Alina Pash and Wasiu trade verses on “Under the Mask,” a collaboration that puts their contrasting voices against iFeature’s mix of orchestral music, alternative pop and trap (EDM). Pash brings an expressive vocal approach, while Wasiu delivers his lines with a more commanding presence. The production gives both room to move before bringing them together over a larger instrumental backdrop.
The arrangement is built around the contrast between orchestral passages and electronic beats. The hip-hop and trap elements keep a firm rhythmic base, while the orchestral layers give the track its scale. As Pash and Wasiu alternate, the production gradually adds weight before opening into a fuller final section. Their voices carry much of the movement, and the shift between them keeps the track from settling into a single mood.
The collaboration grew out of the creative network around Majestic Collective and has already reached the stage through performances at Majestic Nights in Budapest and Apashe’s orchestra show at Orange. That live setting suits the arrangement, with its combination of electronic production and orchestral parts. “Under the Mask” brings three Majestic artists together without smoothing out the differences in their approaches.
