Rombo IV By Miguel Ángel Aragonés Is A Tribute To Minimalism

Los rhombos are four corpses that merge with the formal accidents generated by the urban fabric.

Exterior view of Rombo IV by Miguel Ángel Aragonés

It is a private space consisting of three houses and a studio, in a central and wooded area of Mexico City in constant interaction with the trees called Bosques de las Lomas; It is perhaps our most present and, in any case, most submerged guest, like the vast continuum of water. Fountains and mirrors are a constant natural resource where the reflection sharpens the environment, in this case (the field) is almost always green: just as trees are a valuable resource in almost all highly populated cities, so are plants, water, land and even more intimate nowadays…

I want an exterior that preserves privacy, seen only by sky, wind or sun, that can live in the city with solitude.

Rombo IV By Miguel Ángel Aragonés Is A Tribute To Minimalism

Photography tells a small part of the history of what we discover as architecture, the touch and expression of materials, hardness and softness, heat and cold, the voice of a place that accumulates in the journey of the wind. A leaf of a tree, the sound of a fountain, silence (humming), a picture does not describe the aroma of a garden or the smell of incense: all these speak of atmosphere and shelter, and I find it only in empty spaces that need to murmur with light. Their most natural accidental shape is nothing more than the consequence of a space in search of intimacy, with ourselves and with the experience we seek to repeat in the form of architecture.
