iPhone Pocket is a crafted textile pocket reshaping how users carry their iPhone
A collaboration between Apple and ISSEY MIYAKE introduces iPhone Pocket as an item that treats technology as part of daily attire rather than an accessory to hide away.
The piece centers on a singular 3D-knitted construction developed through ISSEY MIYAKE’s textile research, giving the product a tactile and visually quiet presence that aligns with both brands’ design philosophies.
It is crafted as a soft architectural pocket, forming a continuous textile that adapts to any iPhone model while accommodating other small essentials.

The ribbed open structure recalls the familiar rhythm of ISSEY MIYAKE’s original pleats, giving iPhone Pocket a recognizable material language while adding a sense of motion when expanded.
The knit closes around the device in a calm, minimal gesture, and its openness shifts gently when stretched, allowing a hint of the phone’s interface to become visible.
This gives the piece an interplay between concealment and subtle display, treating function as an aesthetic gesture rather than a technical requirement.

The design supports several ways of wearing, allowing users to carry iPhone Pocket by hand, attach it to a bag, or place it directly on the body as a lightweight companion.
The short strap edition appears in eight colors — lemon, mandarin, purple, pink, peacock, sapphire, cinnamon, and black — while the long strap version arrives in sapphire, cinnamon, and black.
Each hue creates a harmonious match with Apple’s device lineup, forming a quiet dialogue between textile and hardware.

According to Yoshiyuki Miyamae of MIYAKE DESIGN STUDIO, the project focuses on the relationship between the user and their iPhone, treating the pocket as a personal gesture rather than a fixed format.
The knit remains intentionally open to interpretation, encouraging individual expression in how it is worn. Apple’s industrial design team notes that the collaboration reflects shared craftsmanship and clarity.
Its unobtrusive silhouette offers a simple way to carry an iPhone, AirPods, and daily items.

Developed and produced in Japan, the item translates ISSEY MIYAKE’s long-standing concept of “a piece of cloth” into a functional structure for technology.
The Apple Design Studio contributed throughout the process, providing guidance to align textile behavior with device requirements.
This special-edition release presents a convergence of fashion engineering and digital design, resulting in an accessory that supports contemporary habits while maintaining a composed, material-driven aesthetic.
iPhone Pocket becomes available on Friday, November 14, at select Apple Store locations and on apple.com in France, Greater China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, and the U.S., with the short strap priced at $149.95 and the long strap at $229.95.
