Masquespacio shapes a contemplative new Egeo restaurant in Madrid

Masquespacio has completed Egeo’s new souvlaki restaurant in Madrid, a 50-square-meter interior that translates the brand’s Greek roots into a calmer, more mature spatial language. Led by Ana Hernández and Christophe Penasse, the project uses beige surfaces, electric-blue accents, and 3D-printed columns to shape a dining room inspired by the myth of Pandora.

The design studio shifts away from the youthful energy of its first interior for Bun toward a space that mirrors more than a decade of Egeo’s presence in Greek gastronomy.

This transition brings depth, serenity, and an emphasis on narrative intention over spectacle.

In this 50-square-meter environment, the studio situates the concept around the myth of Pandora, whose story carries themes of consequence and perseverance.

When Pandora released adversity into the world, hope remained as the final element, offering a symbolic path toward renewal. Masquespacio translates this theme into a spatial experience that feels thoughtful, layered, and rooted in emotional resonance rather than immediate spectacle.

The room appears shaped by time, as if each surface carries traces of challenge and continual rebuilding.

The material palette strengthens this atmosphere through soft beige tones that generate an enveloping calm. Their presence acts as a neutral field where light moves quietly, establishing a contemplative rhythm across walls and interior volumes.

Moments of electric blue interrupt this stillness with a controlled precision, reinforcing Egeo’s identity while adding a contemporary note that avoids visual excess.

The palette functions as both a nod to the brand and a subtle metaphor for resilience, with blue acting as a reminder of possibility within restraint.

Among the most defining elements are the 3D-printed columns, positioned as sculptural anchors throughout the space. Their stratified texture suggests geological formation, recalling the layered character of marble quarries without imitating their material weight.

Their expressive contours reference ancient Greek drama yet sit firmly in the present, producing a tension between origin and reinterpretation.

These columns guide movement and perception, allowing visitors to sense the narrative without relying on literal representation.
