AMAALA Yacht Club by HKS Hospitality opens on the Red Sea coast

HKS Hospitality has designed the AMAALA Yacht Club, a luxury members’ club located in Marina Village at Triple Bay on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast. The four-level building is designed for international yachting and social activities, bringing together hospitality spaces and sculptural architecture. Its design establishes a close relationship between the marina, the surrounding landscape and the Red Sea. Recently opened to members and visiting yachts, the club introduces a new gathering place along the waterfront.

The architecture of AMAALA Yacht Club combines two distinct geometric influences that determine the building’s form and its relationship with the surroundings. The first references the natural rock formations of the Red Sea coastline, expressed through cantilevered terraces that extend outward from the building. The second draws from maritime history, introducing sweeping curves inspired by the profiles of seafaring vessels. These elements give the yacht club its distinctive architectural character, while the exterior creates a visual transition between the coastal cliffs and the open sea. The terraces extend towards the waterfront, offering expansive views of the marina and surrounding landscape.

Covering approximately 7,900 square metres across four levels, the yacht club incorporates restaurants, lounges, bars, meeting suites and recreational facilities. The design takes further inspiration from the traditional Arabian house, pairing a smooth white exterior with natural and locally sourced finishes. Stone, timber and leather introduce texture throughout the interior spaces, accompanied by refined metal detailing. The architecture balances expansive social areas with more intimate settings, accommodating different activities throughout the day. Its 360-degree configuration allows visitors to experience the surrounding landscape from multiple perspectives, reinforcing the connection between the building and its coastal location.

The arrival sequence is a defining architectural feature. A large shaded arch opens towards the Red Sea, creating a transitional space between the marina and the club’s interior. Above, a mirrored vaulted ceiling reflects the surroundings, while a star-lit floor introduces an atmospheric interpretation of the night sky. The reflective surfaces heighten the building’s sense of movement and extend the visual experience beyond its physical boundaries. From this entrance, a grand staircase connects visitors to the upper levels, where hospitality spaces overlook the marina and surrounding coastline.

Interior design studio ROAM developed the interiors as a continuation of HKS Hospitality’s architectural concept. Lounges and dining areas connect directly to outdoor terraces, establishing a continuous circulation route inspired by the movement of wind and water. The arrangement follows an infinity-loop configuration, encouraging movement between interior and exterior spaces. Natural finishes and metallic accents contribute to a coordinated design language, while extensive waterfront views maintain a consistent relationship with the surrounding environment.

The AMAALA Yacht Club by HKS Hospitality forms part of Red Sea Global’s wider AMAALA development, a destination dedicated to luxury hospitality, wellness and marine tourism along Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast. Beyond its role as a members’ club, the venue provides spaces for international sailing events, dining and social gatherings. The project contributes to the development of Marina Village as a destination for the international yachting community, with architecture that reflects the region’s coastal landscape and maritime heritage.
