    Role Purpose

    The Main Objective of this Role is:

    • Help spearhead delivery of Craster’s design/product strategy; this is an essential role in delivering Craster’s new product development strategy.
    • Design of new products both for the Craster Catalog and for specific client projects.
    • Redesign/improve existing product designs
    • R&D for new ranges of products/materials/categories

    The position requires an experienced and motivated Industrial Designer with a strong portfolio of relevant work who thrives working simultaneously on multiple projects and managing their own workload.

    Craster is looking for a team member who has experience at all levels of design, from researching and identifying innovative solutions, creating concepts, prototypes and mockups to liaising with our sales and commercial teams, customers and manufacturers to deliver beautiful products on time and on budget. . The candidate will connect with internal and external stakeholders and be responsible for delivering assigned projects in partnership with their product developer, while also actively participating in cross-team projects.

    As a Senior Designer at Craster, you are expected to set the pace and develop the younger members of the team through mentoring, maintaining and expecting high standards, bringing smart new perspectives to complex reports, and fostering a high-quality and innovative team. performance of designers and developers. .

    Experience

    • A Product/Industrial Design degree and product portfolio to showcase your design skills.
    • A minimum of 5 years of design experience in a similar industry
    • Strong skills in Solidworks, KeyShot, Adobe Suite, with a good level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Talented and motivated designer with a passion for great design and innovation, and a broad and proficient understanding of materials and manufacturing techniques.
    • Strong track record of conceiving and realizing new ideas in sketching, visualization and rapid prototyping, with an understanding of the cost implications of decision making throughout the design process and the ability to manage the budgets associated with these.
